The Language Centre (CLA) of the University of Macerata offers international students Italian language courses at different levels in the first and second semester.
Classes are offered exclusively to: foreign students enrolled at the University of Macerata (including Postgraduate students); incoming students under EU programs (Erasmus + etc.); visiting professors; Confucius Institute staff; incoming foreign students under ministerial programs and international cooperation agreements.
Courses usually run from September to December and from January to May; they are graded in level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and have a final test.

How to enroll in the Italian courses for international students
Students need to take the placement test, unless they own an official certificate of proficiency in Italian obtained in the last 5 years and issued by one of the internationally recognized certifying bodies (Università per Stranieri di Perugia, Università per Stranieri di Siena, Università Roma 3, Società Dante Alighieri). Please follow this procedure:
1. Create an account on the platform http://CLAcourses.unimc.it/ and, with the information provided during the registration (email + password), login at http://moodle.unimc.it
2. Take the “Placement test A0-B1” (“Entry Test A1 ERASMUS” is only to test the basic skills of Erasmus students)
3. After you finish the test, contact the teacher (francesco.nati@unimc.it) for confirmation and access to the classes

Please note: To be admitted to the final qualification test you need to attend at least 75% of total class time, that is 38 hours in the 50-hour intensive classes (absolute beginners) and 30 hours in the 40-hour A2 – B1 - advanced classes.
Passing the Italian Language test at any level is worth 8 ECTS.
