Italian language courses

The Language Centre (CLA) of the University of Macerata offers international students Italian language courses at different levels in the first and second semester.

Classes are offered exclusively to: foreign students enrolled at the University of Macerata (including Postgraduate students); incoming students under EU programmes (Erasmus + etc.); visiting professor, Confucius Institute staff, incoming foreign students under ministerial programmes and international cooperation agreements (Marco Polo, ABAMC etc.);

Courses usually run from September to December and from January to May; they are graded in level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and have a final exam.

Timetable courses

Gaining access to Italian as a foreign language courses (L2/LS) for international students - Students having to take the placement test: (no qualification certifying level of proficiency in Italian dated after 1st January 2019 and issued by by one of the internationally recognized certifying bodies below Università per Stranieri di Perugia, Università per Stranieri di Siena, Università Roma 3, Società Dante Alighieri):

you need to register on the platform http://CLAcourses.unimc.it/ and with the information provided during the registration (email + password) you have to carry out via the link http://moodle.unimc.it:
  • Erasmus Entry test  A1 to test the basic skills of Erasmus students
  • Placemet test  A0-B1 for all international students who wish to attend Italian courses of any level, at the end of which you are redirected to the courses’ page http://clacourses.unimc.it which, based on the result obtained, allows you to enroll at the corresponding level’s course.

Please note: To be admitted to the final qualification test you need to have attended at least 75% of total class time, that is No. 38 hours out of the 50-hour intensive course classes (absolute beginners) and No. 30 hours out of the 40-hour above-A1 course classes.

Passing the Lingua Italiana L2/LS test at any level is worth 8 ECTS .
