At the end of the section, students must reach level B1, according to the requirements foreseen by the CEFR for this level. In this section the training focuses in particular on written abilities and socio-pragmatic skills. Students will have to practise these skills paying particular attention to their ability to understand dialogues, interviews and news items on themes relating to daily life or the news, and the development of more defined and effective writing abilities. They will have to be able to:
- understand and analyse simple newspaper articles (especially relating to news items or culture); read and comment on relatively simple extracts from narrative texts;
- describe themselves, others, describe environments; express their opinion in an effective manner; present an argument prepared previously;
- summarise texts read or listened to – write a narrative text, for example a story or an account of a trip; write letters/emails in a formal or informal tone; write a job application in a simple form; revise and improve their own written productions.
The contents will be in line with what is required by the national certification for Italian, in particular according to the structure of the corresponding tests from the University for Foreigners of Perugia (CELI2).
