Section 3, Level A1 → A2 (120 hours)
- general language (basic structures for communication);
- oral comprehension and pronunciation;
- reflection on the language and work on texts;
- contents of Italian culture;
- conversation and guided self-study activities;
- tests.
In this section of the course, students are trained to develop basic abilities – in particular those regarding oral comprehension, through phonetic preparation – and pronunciation, with the aim of setting a solid foundation for the subsequent step. Furthermore, the basis is set for the comprehension and use of the communication structures of Italian, and significant contents of Italian culture are introduced.
At the end of the section, students will reach the A2 level of the CEFR, that is:
- be capable of understanding the main information in simple oral and written texts, short accounts of events and stories from daily life; extracting the main information from informative texts that are more complex than the previous level;
- express themselves orally, and in particular: ask for and provide personal information, talk about past events in a simple manner, make plans for the future, voice requests in a courteous manner, describe objects and people, give advice.
- write short texts and in particular: stories in the present tense, the past tense and the future tense; write informal letters and certain simple formal letters.
- describe situations regarding objects, persons, etc…
- express their own personal opinions in a simple yet effective way.
